Nova Diretoria SWYAA Brasil 2020-2022

No segundo semestre de 2020 houve, de forma eletrônica, a eleição da nova diretoria da Associação que ficará responsável pela gestão da SWYAA Brasil nos anos 2020 a 2022, substituindo a gestão do então Presidente Leonardo Nardon (PY SWY 18 | NL GLDP/SWY 26) e Vice-Presidente e Tesoureiro Adriano Lira (PY SWY 23 | NL SWY 29). A nova diretoria tem como principais objetivos aumentar a visibilidade do Brasil dentro da SWYAA International, resgatar e fortalecer os laços entre membros e apoiar no planejamento das Post Program Activities. Também buscando uma administração transparente e inclusiva.

On the second semester of 2020 SWYAA Brasil's elections were hold, digitally, and elected a new board responsible for 2020 to 2022 administration replacing President Leonardo Nardon (PY SWY 18 | NL GLDP/SWY26) and Vice-President and Treasurer Adriano Lira (PY SWY 23 | NL SWY 29). The new board aims on getting more visibility to Brazil in SWYAA International, reinvigorate ties with members and give support on the planning of Post Program Activities. They also train for ant inclusive and open administration.

União em Ação pela Vida

Em parceria com a WaKai RS - associação de jovens que promove atividades ligadas a cultura japonesa - estamos nos mobilizando para para participar do projeto Tsuru: Ação pela vida. O objetivo do Projeto é criar uma instalação artística colaborativa com mais de 200 mil tsuru para homemagear os trabalhoders da linha de frente durante o período da pandemia e renovar a esperança. We are joining forces with WaKai RS - an association build up by youth that promotes events related to japanese culture - to participate in the project Tsuru: Ação pela vida (Tsuru: Action for life). The project's aim is creating a collaborative art installation made by more than 200,000 tsuru to honor the frontline workes during the pandemic and revive hope . SWY INTERNATIONAL DAY

O SWY International Day, 18 de janeiro, deste ano foi especialmente importante para nós, pois celebramos o 30º aniversário da nossa primeira delegação. Durante essa jornada criamos laços inquebráveis e especiais com todos na família SWY. Por isso, fizemos esse vídeo com nossas delegações para despertar nossas ternas lembranças. Esperamos que o próximo navio zarpe logo e traga novos membros para nossa família.
Para que haja fogo a primeira necessidade é a faísca, para que haja mudança precisa-se de pessoas dispostas a liderar, acreditamos que nós, SWYers, somos a faísca para a mudança.

This year’ SWY International Day, january 18th, was especially remarkable for us because we celebrate the 30th anniversary of our first delegation. During this journey we created an unbreakable and special bond with all in SWY family. That's why we made this video with all our delegations to bring back our sweet memories. We hope the next ship sail soon bringing new member to our family.
For there to be fire the first thing needed is a spark, for there to be change people willing to lead it are needed, and we believe we SWYers are the spark to the change.

SWY Wave

O SWY Wave foi um programa realizado com o apoio do Gabinete do Japão de modo que os ex-participantes pudessem compartilhar suas experiências sobre o SWY. O programa tinha como propósito mostrar perspectivas de diferentes partes do mundo e de diferentes gerações sobre os ideais e objetivos do programa. O público-alvo eram as pessoas interessadas em participar do programa no futuro e também a comunidade de participantes do SWY.
Cada edição tinha como foco uma região do planeta. O evento é composto por três partes: sessão de Storytelling, Sessão de Keynote (sobre a aplicação das qualidades do Swy na vida) e Sessão de Breakout (rápidos seminários sobre assuntos diversos). Na edição da América do Sul (SWY Wave #2), em 20 de dezembro de 2020, o Brasil foi representado por Thierry (participante do SWY 32), participando da sessão de Storytelling.
O principal objetivo da sessão de Storytelling era mostrar as amizades interculturais que são cultivadas durante o SWY, os efeitos que elas têm em cada indivíduo no navio e o seu crescimento como membros da comunidade fora dele.

SWY Wave was a program hosted by the Cabinet Office of Japan in order for the participants to share their experiences about the SWY Program. The program’s aim was to show the perspectives from different parts of the world and different generations about the ideals and objectives of the program. The target audience was those interested in joining the program in the future and the SWY community.
Each edition was focused on one region of the planet. The program has three main parts: Story Telling session, Keynote session and Breakout session. On South America edition (SWY Wave #2), on December 20th, 2020, Brazil was represented by Thierry (from SWY 32), joining the Story Telling session.
The main point of the Story Telling session was to show the intercultural friendships that are cultivated during the SWY program, the effects it has on the individual on the ship, and to the growth of those individuals as members of a community outside the ship.

SWYAA Connections: Ofocina de Origami

O SWYAA Connections é o projeto criado com o intuito de reforçar os laços entre os SWYers brasileiros. Nesses encontros o objetivo principal é criar um ambiente acolhedor e descontraído para que os participantes compartilhem tempo de qualidade juntos.
Na primeira atividade tivemos o ex-PY Guilherme Kaneko (GLDP / SWY 26) como facilitador. Enquanto os membros dividiam lembranças do SWY e criavam novas memórias Kaneko ensinou a todos a dobrar a Arara Azul, símbolo da SWYAA Brasil, confira o passo a passo no vídeo abaixo.

SWYAA Connections is a project created with the intention of strengthening the bonds between Brazilian SWYers. In these meeting the main goal is to create an welcoming and carefree atmosphere for participants to share quality time together.
For our first activity we had ex-PY Guilherme Kaneko (GLDP / SWY 26) as the facilitator. While the members shares SWY experience and created new memories Kaneko taught them how to fold an Blue Macaw, SWYAA Brasil’s symbol, check the step by step on the video below.

Workshop de Escrita Criativa

Em maio de 2020, membros da SWYAA se reuniram para uma oficina de escrita criativa conduzida pelo artista e empreendedor @ivan_nisida (SWY 32). Nela, os/as participantes foram convidados/as a se aventurar por suas terras interiores através da arte da escrita criativa, revelando suas potências para criar. Foi um belíssimo momento de conexão entre as gerações SWY, para escrever, para relembrar e para sorrir também.
A TORII – Escrita Criativa (@torii.escrita) é um projeto 100% criado graças à experiência SWY, um programa que oferece as condições necessárias para o pleno desenvolvimento dos/as participantes por meio do estímulo à autoconfiança, liberdade, em que jovens são introduzidos/as em um ambiente multicultural e estimulante.
Foi a bordo do Nippon Maru que a primeira oficina aconteceu, em 23 janeiro de 2020, para assimilar o que estávamos vivendo. De alguma forma, essas oficinas carregam o espírito SWY ao buscar promover conexões profundas entre seres humanos de origens e trajetórias distintas, mostrando que eles possuem mais em comum do que se imagina.

In May 2020, members of the SWYAA met for a creative writing workshop led by artist and entrepreneur @ivan_nisida (SWY 32). Participants were invited to dive into their inner worlds through the art of creative writing, letting out their inventive potential. It was a beautiful moment of connection between SWY generations, with memories and smiles.
TORII - Creative Writing (@torii.international) is a project thoroughly created thanks to the SWY experience, a program that offers the necessary conditions for the participants' development through the encouragement of self confidence and leadership skills, in which young people are placed in a multicultural and stimulating environment.
The first workshop happened on board of the Nippon Maru on January 23th 2020, with the goal of assimilating the experience. These workshops carry the SWY spirit by promoting connections between people from diverse origins, showing them they have more in common than one might imagine.

I Encontro nacional da swyaa brasil

No dia 18/01/19, para comemorar o Dia Internacional do SWY, realizamos o primeiro Encontro Nacional da SWYAA Brasil em Brasília. Como muitos já sabem, os participantes do programa são de diferentes partes do Brasil e atualmente, alguns deles estão morando no exterior. Por este motivo, além de um bom planejamento antecipado, é essencial a disponibilidade de tempo cada um dos participantes no mesmo período.
O I Encontro Nacional da SWYAA Brasil, contou com a participação de ex participantes que atualmente moram no Rio Grande do Sul, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, México, Brasília. Além disso, os que não puderam comparecer pessoalmente, participaram através de compartilhamento de vídeos.
O resultado do primeiro encontro foi bastante positivo, a aproximação dos ex participantes, as trocas de experiências e as atividades realizadas no encontro nos fez redescobrir o espírito de "Keep SWYing" e nos inspirou a planejar ações futuras e juntos tornar o mundo um lugar melhor. Neste encontro relembramos das atividades voluntárias realizadas por cada um dos participantes, visitamos o Parque Nacional de Brasília, aprendemos mais sobre educação ambiental, produção de instrumentos musicais de materiais reciclados, sustentabilidade e empreendedorismo social.
Além disso, doamos livros para a biblioteca e criamos placas de catalogação para organizar os livros nas prateleiras. No final, apreciamos a natureza e cuidamos da mente e do corpo com uma aula prática de Tai Chi Chuan.

BRAZILIAN DELEGATES ON THEIR WAY TO GLDP!

For the third time in four years, Brazil has been invited to an interexchange program held by the Japanese government. Nine delegates will take part on the newborn Global Leaders Development Program (GLDP) which will replace the Ship For World Youth Program (SWY) in 2014.

Unlike what happened to other batches, SWYAA Brasil and the Japanese Embassy in Brazil were responsible for the selection of the participants. Most of the new participating youth (PY) study or has studied Japan-related subjects on their graduations and speak Japanese in different levels of comprehension.

GLDP Brazilian delegation is composed by:

The other participating countries of GLDP are Bahrain, Fiji, India, Japan, Mexico, Sweden, Tanzania and Turkey. All the delegates will arrive in Japan on January 22 and participate of pre-program and training sessions until February 3. From Febrary 4 to February 12, PY will sail onboard the MS Nippon Maru ship. Participants will organize seminars, prepare a National Presentation and visit the city of Ishinomaki.

After leaving the ship, Japanese PY will visit, from February 13 to February 20, Bahrein, Fiji, Mexico and Turkey and take part of activities with the local youth and ex-PY of SWY former editions.

BRAZIL IN SWY 24!

Great news! For the seventh time, Ship For World Youth will have a Brazilian Delegation! In 2012, Fujimaru will travel through the Indian Ocean and the youth from 13 countries will visit India, Sri Lanka and Singapore.

Our noisy, loud and incredible warriors will have the best trip of their lives with delegates from 12 other countries: Bahrein, Canada, Egypt, India, Japan, New Zealand, Peru, Russia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Venezuela.

The Participating Youth will arrive in Nihon on January 18th; the departure ceremony, at the Yokohama Pier, will be held on January 29th. Almost 40 days later, they will come back to Japan on March, 5th - crying a lot, I suppose.
